Wastewater Treatment Plants - Hybrid solution
Installation of a system at the inlet of a wastewater treatment plant, between regulating valves and screw pumps. The flow is therefore controlled upstream and downstream.
Customer
- Our customer manages sewage networks and wastewater treatment plants in an aera of around 900.000 people. The site is located in the south of the Netherlands.
Task definition
- Installation of a system at the inlet of a wastewater treatment plant, between regulating valves and screw pumps. The flow is therefore controlled upstream and downstream.
- The collector is 3 m wide and 1,7 m high. The level and velocity can drastically vary.
- Different flow conditions for the same level. In very low levels the water is extremely slick.
- Instant access to the data is essential for the customer.
Solution
- Installation of a hybrid system combining a BELUGA 45° and a RAVEN-EYE 2 with a radar level sensor. The measured velocities of the BELUGA are taken from 0 to 500 mm high and the values from the RAVEN-EYE 2 are taken from 700 mm to 1700 mm high. Between 500 mm and 700 mm, a smooth transfer from ultrasonic doppler technology (BELUGA) to radar technology (RAVEN-EYE 2) is made.
- Data is transmitted via GRPS/3G with a MUCmini to com, allowing data analysis and download through a central system.
